Directions to Bridging Worlds Retreat Center, location of retreats and workshops

(The Asheville airport is an hour away, and the Knoxville airport is 1 1/2 hours away. Rates vary so check both.)

Driving directions from Interstate 40 coming from the East:
About 25 miles west of Asheville, take Exit 24/ Lake Junaluska, Hot Springs, Hwy 209. Turn right. If you check your odometer right before you turn, you will find that after following this road for exactly 8 miles from where you turned off the Interstate you will see Ferguson’s Supply store. Here Highway 209 turns to the right. DON’T turn, stay straight on the road which will pass to the left of the store. You are now on Max Patch Rd. Watching the odometer from where you turned off, at the 12.3 mark (4.3 miles from Ferguson’s supply) you will reach a juncture with a road sign that says Belmont Church. Turn slightly to the left here. Now you are on a gravel road. My driveway is exactly 3.6 miles from this point, 15.9 miles from where you turned off the Interstate. Just before my driveway you will pass a forest sign on your left that says Welcome to Pisgah National Forest, and then a big brown house also on your left. My mailbox is right across from the brown house with the number 1168 on it. Turn right into my driveway.

Driving directions from Interstate 40 coming from the West, from the Knoxville area.
You can choose one of two options. The first one is shorter, but there is more gravel road to travel with this option. If you prefer more paved roads, take the second option:

Option 1:
Take Exit 7, Harmon Den. Turn to the left at the exit, check your odometer. At 3.6 miles you will encounter signs saying Cold Springs to the right, Max Patch to the left. Turn left toward Max Patch. Travel another 3.6 miles, totaling 6.2 from where you turned off the interestate – here you reach Max Patch Rd. Turn right. Drive just under 3 more miles, when your odometer says you are 9.1miles from where you turned off the interstate, you should be at my driveway, with a mailbox that says 1168 on it. Turn left into my driveway.

2nd option, with more paved road:
Take Exit 15, Fines Creek exit. Turn left, drive 3.5 miles to Max Patch Road. Turn left on Max Patch, drive 3.6 more miles and you will reach a juncture with a road sign that says Belmont Church. Turn slightly to the left here. Now you are on a gravel road. My driveway is exactly 3.6 miles from this point, 10.2 miles from where you turned off the Interstate. Just before my driveway you will pass a forest sign on your left that says Welcome to Pisgah National Forest, and then a big brown house also on your left. My mailbox is right across from the brown house with the number 1168 on it. Turn right into my driveway.
